My little boy!

Wednesday 18th October 2017 - Toulouse.

Of course today is a honey day......and to bring you up to date we purchased cherry jam to replace the strawberry jam that is running out.

We actually had to set our alarm to get up today.  I had called ahead yesterday to the site at Toulouse to make a reservation and he told me that they closed at 12 noon.  So we made an early start to be on the safe side.  We stopped to make a purchase on the way....

A little treat for celebrations.

We arrived at the site at 11.15am but it was a good job we had ensured we were there before 12 because there was a big sliding gate that would have kept us out  if we had been late.  I was also glad we had a reservation because it was very full.  The site isn't pretty but it will do the job.  Our pitch is large and we quickly set up the tent ready for John.

We had carried the tent from England so that John could come for a visit.

The site is also close to the airport.  We certainly knew about the airport proximity every time an airplane took off.

Many were closer than this one.

John called us from the airport when he arrived and we set off from the camp site.  Within 10 minutes he was in the camper van and heading back to the site.  It wasn't difficult to spot him at the airport!  It's handy being ginger and 6'8" tall.

It was fantastic to see him.  John is getting aquatinted with his accommodation.

We had some food - we need to keep John well fed...and had some drinkies too.

We played card games into the night, including knockout whist, blackjack, pontoon and finally cheat!  I was the master cheater!

We used some Brittany Ferry playing cards that Peter (my younger brother) and I won on a channel crossing by winning the on board quiz.  It was midnight before we collapsed into bed and John took one of the van cushions into the tent to sleep on.
