To market, to market....
Wednesday 4th October 2017 - Uzes.
I am just getting over the crisis of running out of English Tea Bags! It may not seem like a crisis to you but it's a big deal to me! I have nothing else to worry about. I have been forced onto the French version of English Breakfast Tea. It looks and smells similar but has no taste by comparison. I may have to double up on the tea bags.
We can't continue to see a UNESCO World Heritage Site tourist attraction every day.
Our 'day off' involved going into Uzes this morning for the Wednesday market. We were all ready to buy local produce for our meals over the next day or three. We didn't buy a 'fat pig, home again home again, jiggety jig'....as the rhyme goes. I couldn't get one in my panniers!
We bought local sausages, lamb, boudin noir (black pudding), tapenade (black olive, garlic and anchovy paste), olives, cheeses and fresh veg and fruit. We had a further walk around too.
We enjoyed our usual lunch back at the site, consisting of bread, cheese, pate and tomato.
In the afternoon we had a walk to the nearby village of Arpaillargues-Aureillac (No wonder we aren't keen on spelling it as our location). It isn't too remarkable but has a nice hotel in the old chateau.
Then had a glass of Rose as an afternoon treat...
On our return, having boosted her confidence by alcohol Janice cut my hair or should I say she used the 'slash and burn' technique. We had a little relax by the pool. A quiet day by our standards.
